Clydesdale, Yorkshire and B Bank is a retail and commercial bank in the United Kingdom that offers a range of services for customers, including Accounts, Loans, Credit cards, Mortgages, Insurance, Investment Management, Financial Planning, Internet banking, Overdrafts, and Invoice and asset finance.
Objective
To merge three distinct banking brands into one to attract a younger audience.
Target Audience
New bankers are a crucial target audience. Once someone decides on a bank, they tend to stay for an average of 7+ years. This underscores the importance of attracting new bankers to gain more market traction. B Brand was a "new bank" created to reimagine a merger of Clydesdale/Yorkshire banks to attract new bankers (millennials, Gen Z, etc).
My Role
As part of the Digital Solutions team, my primary responsibility was to collaborate with the team in the creation of new branded apps and websites for three different digital banking brands. On a daily basis, I worked extensively on the design aspect, specifically focusing on designing mobile-first responsive website wireframes and ensuring pixel-perfect designs. In addition to this, I dedicated a significant amount of time to crafting mobile app screens for both iOS and Android platforms. Another crucial aspect of my role was to contribute to the creation of a brand pattern library, which served as a foundational resource for maintaining brand consistency across various digital platforms. Beyond design tasks, I also engaged in UX work and conducted thorough user testing with the public to gain insights into their needs, preferences, and pain points. This user-centered approach was essential in ensuring that the digital solutions we created effectively met the needs of our target users.
